Position: Netball Coaches - Premier and Senior A Responsible to: Sports Manager in Charge of Netball

Relationships: Director of Sport, DIO Sports Dept, Auckland Netball Centre

Term: Fixed Term position of up to 6 hours in Term 1 for Pre-Season, 6 hours per week during Term 2 and 3 for Netball Season

Purpose: The Netball Coach will work with students in a Pathway team to develop and hone their skills and gameplay to a high standard and create a competitive team environment.

Expectations
●  Strong Communication between players/parents around expectations and goals for trainings and games
●  Creating a positive learning environment for players
●  Plan and organise effective, quality training sessions and game plans
●  Ensure high quality warm up to engage players’ minds and bodies
●  Link with and share best practice with fellow Pathway Coaches
​​​​​​​●  Attending Coaching Development sessions in season (1 per term)

Technical Skills and Knowledge
●  Planning and Organisation Skills to effectively run training sessions and game days
●  Coaching Ability and Understanding
●  Systems used to develop young players

Health and Safety
●  Ensure that all accidents and incidents are reported to the Sports Manager in a timely manner, this includes hazards and risks

Key Performance Indicators
●  Termly report to be shared with Sports Manager in Charge of Netball summarising player capabilities including technical & tactical skill set and fitness

Botany Downs Secondary College (BDSC) are seeking expressions of interest from passionate and motivated coaches, who are experienced in playing/coaching netball.

This may suit university students, who wish to develop their coaching portfolio.

We require coaches specifically for our 9A, 10A and Senior A-C teams.

As a BDSC coach we would require you to:

  • Attend trials and help select teams (Mid Term 1)
  • Plan and deliver weekly training sessions (from the end of Term 1, through Term 2 and 3).
  • Attend all Saturday games at Auckland Netball Centre during Term 2 and 3.

The successful candidates will need to undergo police vetting. Remuneration will be discussed.
